Water Table

Our Outdoor Water Table is designed with removable gates that the children can use to create locks and dams. When two or more Water Tables are put together at alternating heights, children can control the water flow from one table to the next by manipulating the water valve. Place a large bucket at the end of the Outdoor Water Table, and as the water flows out of the last table into the bucket, the children can take small buckets and haul the water back up to the top table and start the process all over again. The Water Table is designed with a drain and rubber stopper. In addition, the valve and stem pipe can be removed to allow for continuous drainage.

Add manipulatives to the Water Table, and the young scientists can observe and explore the physical properties of water, snow, ice and other sensory items. The children can make simple cause and effect predictions and demonstrate scientific principles—sink, float, melt, solid, liquid.
